Moderate-growing evergreen shrub to 4- 6’ tall spreading via underground stems to 4-5’ wide. Somewhat irregular in growth-habit this attractive species features glossy holly-like foliage that emerges with a bronzy-red tinge maturing to a lustrous green to eventually turn purplish-red in the cool temperatures of fall and winter. Abundant showy clusters of lightly-fragrant bright-yellow flowers appear in spring followed by eye-catching blueberry-colored berries that attract birds in summer. Well-suited as an accent mass planting or hedge. Moderate to low water needs once established. Partial to full sun.
