Malus Snowdrift is a rounded deciduous tree growing 15 – 20 feet tall with a similar size canopy spread. It produces red buds which open to mildly fragrant white flowers in the spring. The flowers are followed by clusters of orange-red fruits (crabapples) which mature in the fall. The fruits are persistent and are known to be attractive to birds.  Malus Snowdrift has glossy dark green leaves.  It grows best in well-drained slightly acidic soil and in full sun but can adapt to a wide range of soils.  Malus Snowdrift is usually pruned in May or June.  Malus Snowdrift is excellent as a small flowering lawn or street tree and is also effective as a specimen tree.
