It can also tolerate full shade and a wide range of soil and environmental conditions.  Boston Ivy typically grows 30 to 50 feet.  It is a vigorous climber that usually needs no support in order for it to adhere to flat surfaces like brick stone or wood.

Boston Ivy fall color can be quite attractive and like Parthenocissus t. Veitch clusters of small white flowers appear in late spring to early summer. These flowers give way to dull blue berries.  It makes an excellent covering for walls trellises arbors or fences.  Parthenocissus Tricuspidata may also be grown on the ground to cover old tree stumps a rock pile or other open garden areas.  Parthenocissus Tricuspidata has also been used for erosion control on slopes.
