Plant Type

Grass

Moderate-growing, clumping, perennial ornamental grass to 2-3’ tall and wide. This attractive dwarf variety forms a soft mound of narrow, gracefully-arching, medium-green leaves accented with fluffy, buff-colored flower plumes that rise above the foliage late-summer into fall. Adding further appeal are the warm, golden-toned foliage colors that appear in the cool of fall. Ideal for applications where a full-sized fountain grass might be overpowering, this attractive dwarf variety is well-suited as an accent or texture contrast to broadleaf shrubs and perennials, and is a great choice for planting in mass for medians or drifts. Prune to 4-6” in early-spring to encourage a strong flush of fresh new spring foliage. Prefers a well-drained soil, and while this variety can survive with light watering once established, a more robust-looking plant is achieved with moderate regular watering.  Thrives in a full to partial sun exposure. Deer resistant.
