Category:

Fast-growing evergreen shrub to 3-5’ tall x 3-4’ wide. This attractive South African hybrid forms an open rounded-mound of compact-growing, soft gray-green foliage, accented with a profusion of showy, sweet-pea-like, purplish-pink flowers that appear in abundance mid-spring through summer. Sporadic bloom throughout the year may occur in mild climates. Well-suited as an accent, in mixed borders, or as an attractive summer-blooming container specimen. Despite its dainty appearance, this species has proven to be cold hardy into the low 20’s, and tolerates a variety of different soil types (provided they’re well-drained). Prefers moderate watering, though well-established plantings can survive on relatively low amounts of water. Thrives in a full to partial sun exposure. Plants will tend to become leggy and less floriferous in shady exposures.

USDA Zone: 9-12
