Moderate-growing deciduous tree with an upright growth-habit to 20-25’ tall and wide. This popular variety forms a rounded head of unique bronzy-purple foliage, and is revered for its showy profusion of lightly-fragrant, single light-pink to white flowers that appear in spring prior to the emergence of its attractive foliage. While generally considered a flowering plum, this floriferous, heat-tolerant variety often sets 1” round purplish-red fruit that are edible and attract birds. Well-suited as a small lawn, street, shade or patio tree, and is a popular choice for entryways or raised planters. Prefers regular watering in a well-drained soil, and a full sun exposure.
