Moderate-growing deciduous shrub with a rounded growth-habit to 3’ tall and wide, or greater with age. Nearly evergreen in mild climates. This attractive dwarf variety features dense-growing, glossy bright-green foliage contrasted with abundant, vivid orange-red flowers appearing in summer, followed by showy, burnished-red ornamental fruit in late-summer. Unlike others in its species, this variety flowers at an early age, with blooms seen on plants a mere foot tall. Well-suited as a single specimen, shrub border or background to lower-growing perennials. Also makes a great container specimen, and is a popular bonsai subject. Prefers regular watering in a well-drained soil, and thrives in a full to partial sun exposure.
