Pyrostegia venusta is a vigorous fast growing evergreen woody vine that that blooms in winter and spring with spectacular reddish-orange flowers.  Flame vine branches out and climbs by clinging.  It can produce numerous clusters of spectacular reddish-orange flowers in fall through winter. The tubular shaped flowers are about 3 inches long and they grow in clusters at the tips of branches. The flower clusters may hang down under their own weight. Fruits are slender dry capsules about 1 foot long.  Flame Vine can be often be seen as an arbor or trellis cover.  Flame Vine should be planted in full sun to part shade with regular irrigation.
