Quercus wislizeni often known by common names Interior Live Oak or Sierra Live Oak is an evergreen oak.  Its growth form is variable and it can often be shrub like.  Quercus wislizenitrees can reach 50 feet and with nearly as wide a canopy but they are slow growing.  Quercus wislizeni has glossy dark-green leaves. It is native to the lower and middle elevations of the California coastal ranges and the Sierra Nevada.  Quercus wislizeni likes sun with little to no water once established.  Quercus wislizeni is a beautiful tree that needs no special care. The reddish-brown bark makes the tree look somewhat formal.
