Following flowering appear small berry-like dark-blue fruit though they are mostly inconspicuous. Well-suited as a foundation planting in mixed borders as an accent mass planting hedge or container specimen and can be pruned into a small patio tree. This species is drought tolerant but looks best with a light regular watering schedule. Prefers a well-drained soil in a full to partial sun exposure. Best flowering and growth-habit will occur in a full sun exposure.

They’re grown for showy color dark leathery leaves and for durability.  These attributes all combine to make it a popular evergreen specimen plant an informal hedge or screen. As with some of the other Rhaphiolepis indicas the leaves color begins in bronze and burgundy and then mature to dark green. ‘Pink Lady’ thrives in many climates where it is known as a low maintenance shrub.
