Ground Cover

Fast-growing deciduous groundcover to 2-3’ tall x 6-8’ wide. This popular spreading variety features divided, rich-green foliage that emits a pleasant fragrance when brushed or bruised, hence the name Fragrant Sumac. Small yellow flowers appear in spring, followed by small fruit ripening to red in late-summer. Adding further appeal to this variety is the lovely display of fall foliage color in shades scarlet to reddish purple. Great for use as a ground stabilizing groundcover on banks or hillsides. Tolerates a variety of soil conditions, requires little water once established, and thrives in a partial to full sun exposure.

USDA Zone: 4-9
