Plant Type

Shrub

Moderate-growing evergreen shrub to 3-5’ tall and wide. This attractive California native species features aromatic, lance-shaped, whitish-gray foliage that has long been used for medicinal and ceremonial purposes, and is accented with showy spikes of lavender-tinged white flowers appearing in summer, attracting hummingbirds and bees. Tough, heat-loving and drought tolerant, this grateful species requires a fast-draining soil, and once established, requires little more than supplemental summer watering. Thrives in a full sun exposure, and is especially well-suited as an accent planting for arid climates. Deer resistant.
