Moderate-growing evergreen succulent to 2-3’ tall x 4-5’ wide. This California native is a trunkless species forming a dense rosette of narrow, silvery-bluish-green leaves margined with fine teeth and a very sharp terminal spine. Definitely best-suited for areas with little human or pet traffic. Leaves emerge upright from the center of the rosette, with outer leaves gracefully arching downward. Adding further appeal to this tough species is the magnificently showy 6-12’ tall spike of showy, fragrant, drooping creamy-white flowers that appear on mature plants in late-spring to early-summer. Great as an accent or focal point in arid landscapes. Requires well-drained soil and little water once established. Thrives in a full sun exposure. Deer resistant.
