Special Features

Attracts Hummingbirds, Birds, Bees, Low Water Use

Slow growing evergreen perennial/succulent with grass-like foliage to 2-3′ tall and wide. This tough, compact, hardy, drought-tolerant species creates a fountain-like mound of narrow gracefully-arching olive-green leaves, accented with tall spikes of showy brake light-red flowers that rise above the foliage early to mid-summer, with intermittent blooming throughout the year in milder climates. A favorite from hummingbirds. Well-suited in rock gardens, succulent gardens, as an accent or container specimen. Requires well-drained soil and little water once established, and thrives in full to partial sun exposure.
