Fast-growing deciduous tree to 50-70’ tall and wide. This attractive variety is a relative of the popular weeping willow, but does not exhibit its heavily-weeping branching characteristic and is capable of tolerating dryer climates. Narrow, lance-shaped medium-green leaves with pale-green undersides grow on upright branching that eventually forms an attractive rounded globe. Adding further appeal to this variety is its attractive, furrowed light-green bark that becomes more deeply-fissured with age. Clusters of elongated yellow flowers appear in spring, but are considered inconspicuous. Well-suited for park settings, open areas or as a large-scale lawn tree. While this variety can survive with less water than others in its genus, a more robust specimen is achieved with regular watering in a fast-draining soil. Thrives in a full sun exposure.
