Category:

Moderate to fast-growing, large evergreen shrub or medium sized tree with an upright growth-habit to 35’ tall x 15-25’ wide with age. This dense-growing selection features glossy, wavy-edged leaves that emerge bright-green, eventually maturing to deep green. When grown as a tree form, this attractive species tends to develop a dense, rounded canopy with age. Showy, fragrant yellow flowers appear in spring, followed by half-inch long green seed capsules that develop in summer or fall. Well-suited as a small-space tree, screen, or as a large natural or sheared hedge. In mild or coastal climates this species can prosper with light watering. In warmer inland climates it requires regular watering. Prefers a fast-draining soil, and thrives in a full sun to partial shade exposure.
